Abraham Lincoln Quote

Here is an Abraham Lincoln quote that I found on Google Plus. It sounded so great that I just had to share it for today.
Abraham Lincoln completely understood what it takes for the people of a society to live in freedom, with prosperity and true happiness...and so they killed him. -You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. -You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. -You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. -You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. -You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. -You cannot build character and courage by taking away men’s initiative and independence. -You cannot help men permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves. - Abraham Lincoln
I am not so sure about the "so they killed him part." It is a shame that people got killed for wanted to do the right thing and saying things that people can not understand because they live in so much hatred, and self absorption. I hope people will help people succeed and have a good future instead of taking away everything they need to have what it takes to want to work for what they get instead of depending on government gifts.

Maine's Governor Paul LePage

I got this in an email, and had to share it because here is someone who seems like they stand up for what they believe in. This is probably why he was elected. I do not follow politics in Maine, but it is amazing how someone can say something (well nothing new, I guess), and the media just reports what they want to report to make them look the way the media views them. I decided to look into it and found that I am sort of late on all this since it is old news. I wonder what the Governor is like today. I will check it out, too. Here is the email.
Meet Maine 's New Governor --- I hope this makes its way around the USA several times!!!!! Meet Maine 's New Governor --- In case you haven't heard about this guy before, his name will stick in your mind! The new Maine Governor, Paul LePage is making New Jersey 's Chris Christie look like an enabler. He isn't afraid to say what he thinks. Judging by the comments, every time he opens his mouth, his popularity goes up. He brought down the house at his inauguration when he shook his fist toward the media box and said, "You're on notice! I've inherited a financially troubled State to run. Observe...cover what we do...but don't whine if I don't waste time responding to your every whim just for your amusement." During his campaign for Governor, he was talking to commercial fishermen who are struggling because of federal fisheries rules. They complained that 0bama brought his family to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park for a long Labor Day holiday and found time to meet with union leaders, but wouldn't talk to the fishermen. LePage replied, "I'd tell him to go to hell and get out of my State." The Lame Stream Media crucified LePage, but he jumped 6 points in the pre-election poll. The Martin Luther King incident was a political sandbag, which brought him National exposure. The 'lame stream' media crucified him, but word on the street is very positive. The NAACP specifically asked LePage to spend MLK Day visiting black inmates at the Maine State Prison. He told them that he would meet with ALL inmates, regardless of race, if he were to visit the prison. The NAACP balked and then put out a news release claiming falsely that he refused to participate in any MLK events. He read it in the paper for the 1st time the next morning while being driven to an event and went ballistic because none of the reporters had called him for comment before running the NAACP release. He arrived at that event & said in front of a TV camera, "If they want to play the race card on me they can kiss my ass", and he reminded them that he has an adopted black son from Jamaica and that he attended the local MLK Breakfast every year that he was mayor of Waterville. (He started his morning there on MLK Day.) He then stated that there's a right way and a wrong way to meet with the Governor, and he put all special interests on notice that press releases, media leaks, and all demonstrations would prove to be the wrong way. He said any other group, which acted like the NAACP could expect to be at the bottom of the Governor's priority list! He then did the following, and judging from local radio talk show callers, his popularity increased even more: The State employees union complained because he waited until 3 P.M. before closing State offices and facilities and sending non-emergency personnel home during the last blizzard. The prior Governor would often close offices for the day with just a forecast before the first flakes. (Each time the State closes for snow, it costs the taxpayers about $1 million in wages for no work in return.) LePage was CEO of the Marden's chain of discount family bargain retail stores before election as governor. He noted that State employees getting off work early could still find lots of retail stores open to shop. So, he put the State employees on notice by announcing: "If Marden's is open, Maine is open!" He told State employees: "We live in Maine in the winter, for heaven's sake, and should know how to drive in it. Otherwise, apply for a State job in Florida !" Governor LePage symbolizes what America needs; Refreshing politicians who aren't self-serving and who exhibit common sense.
If you want sources for this article I found some on Snopes.com and if you click here you can find the article on Snopes. It is a bit different but basically the same. Looking into this more with a Google Search showed a lot of results for and against the Governor. One article states this: Did Maine Gov. LePage Even Speak To NAACP About Visiting Only Black Prisoners? That is an interesting read and another view point. Then in this article he did attend a Martin Luther King JR event. The Governor of Maine has a few years before he is up for re-election. He has ruffled a lot of feathers. I hope he is toning things down as far as the respect he shows to all people. There should be a better vocabulary he can use to make his point without getting into so much trouble. Living in a state where we face the highest state taxes in the nation, and in an area where people lose houses because jobs leave the state due to high taxes, one can't help but start looking at other parts of the country to see how they are handling this economy and what sort of leadership is there. Governor LePage is definitely not enough to give me the incentive to move to Maine, where I would most likely freeze during winter.

I have been pretty much staying quiet with the election and all, since that can bring out the worst in people and they will tend to leave humor at the door. However someone sent me this YouTube link and I just have to add it here for future generations.

Would You Let Your Daughter Marry Into This Family?

Well I know that it is the time of live and let live, and the sins of the father do not really mean that the children will be effected by them. Right? Do you agree?

Think about this. Here is a character reference of the family your beloved daughter is going to marry into.

Nine years before the engagement the future Father-In-Law was indicted and later pleaded guilty to 31 of 69 charges of bank fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud.[7] Nearly $10 million was involved in the crimes. Shortly after his indictment, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but the judge at his trial disallowed a mental illness defence.[3] After serving five years in federal prison, he was released in April 2008.[8]He is expected to remain on federal probation until 2011, and owes substantial restitution to his victims.[9]

*Sorry about all the parenthesis...this is taken from Wikipedia and the source will be given in full at the end of this post.

To repeat: In 2001, he was convicted of several dozen charges of fraud, and served five years in federal prison...

Now that was nine years ago and he has been out of prison but is on federal probation, but his son is the one marrying your daughter. The son has had a lot to deal with, and his character should not be blemished because of the mistakes made by the father.

The father was a politician and did win some elections. He served in Congress and served on a committee that brought down one famous President in a well known scandal.

Would that make a difference to you?

I suppose if my daughter was in love, and wanted to get married, I could not refuse at all. I would have to stand by her decision knowing I raised her as best I could and gave her everything possible that I could give her to insure her success. You have to let go sometime, right?

This is a very famous daughter of a very famous and highly political couple. Meet the In-laws of Bill and Hillary Clinton. I am sure the future will be a very exciting one for all of them.

I wish Chelsea and her new husband Marc Mezvinsky, every happiness and a beautiful future together.

Edward Mezvinsky's son, Marc, married Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former U.S President Bill Clinton and current U.S. Secretary of State and former U.S Senator from New York Hillary Rodham Clinton in Rhinebeck, New York, on July 31, 2010.[6]

Remember World War 2 Survivors

Iwo Jima MemorialImage by blahmni via Flickr

Last Saturday I met a Marine Corp Iwo Jima survivor. I was at a restaurant with my father, who also served in the Marines in WWII. The man was wearing a jacket and a cap that said Iwo Jima on it. I knew my dad was a past president of his American Legion Post so I asked if he knew that man. He said yes he did, and that he did fight on Iwo Jima. I have read books about it but can not imagine being there, and doing what they needed to do to survive.

I bought the man breakfast. It was the least I could do. I felt honored that I could thank someone in person for what they did so I could grow up in a safe and free USA.

My uncle just was laid to rest yesterday. He is buried with honors in a military cemetery. He never talked to me much about his military service, but one of his sons was saying that he talked to him a little about it. No one really ever knew this quiet man and the demons he lived with as the result of his service to the country.

He also fought with the Navy in the Pacific in World War 2. He was one of the early Navy Seals, or pre-runners to them. He would have to be on his own with the other men who survived until the Marines could come in and secure the islands. This is what my cousin told me. He said he was only 16 at the time (he had falsified documents to enter the Navy at age 15). I am not sure how many he killed, but he did kill. He lived a quiet life after the war, but a tormented one, too.

I know there are several of us who wished they could have known him better. I believe he is with the Lord now, and finally he can rest in Peace.

This video is a tribute to the men and women who continue to serve and who have served in the military. Thank you.

India's Chili Pepper Weapon

Chili peppersImage via Wikipedia

My brother said this showed up on his desk where he works in gang and drug prevention.
It seems India has a weapon in the form of a super hot chili pepper.

I can not imagine eating this let alone having it sprayed in my face after watching this video.

Some people might find this funny. It seems painful to me. It is interesting to see what is out there now. I wonder if the US will add this to pepper spray. If so it could be really dangerous.

For more information about what India's plans are for the pepper you can visit the site where my brother sent me to get the video.

If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Were Alive Today

If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were alive today, and saw the condition of the world what would he write about?

It is difficult to say what he would be writing about. His famous speech known as the "I Have A Dream" speech has not been a dream come true yet, but it was a starting point for people to realize that all men and women of all colors and ethnic origins should find a way to live in peace and understanding. The speech was given at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC., on August 28, 1963.

Doctor Martin Luther King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Four years later he was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man of peace, but the movement he was credited with leading, was not peaceful at all. There was so much brutality during that time without any recourse. When you look at the old news videos you see man's hatred towards man. Protesters were brutally beaten by the police as they were arresting them.

Are there more people today who adopt the views of Martin Luther King, Jr.? Have the boundaries of racism and prejudice been torn down like the walls in Berlin so many years ago, or have a few holes been punched in them here and there, that, thankfully, no one bothers to seal up?

We have seen the progression towards the "solid rock of brotherhood" that was spoken of by Dr. King, and it is my opinion that it is still a progression and the destination has not been fully met. I wonder if it can ever be fully met. It is not just a racial destination, but man vs. man, and man vs. woman, and all that no matter what race. There are always nations at war, and injustices being done to other people within the same race.

Disasters, such as the earthquake in Haiti, are a wake up call for all of us. Our life can be gone in an instant. What good is it to live a life a hatred, and die having served no good cause or helped your fellow man?

Over the past year and even the past month we have seen several celebrities die too soon. Even Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had his life cut too short by a assassin in 1968 at age 39. If he were still alive, I believe he would be happy to see the progression of the world towards the removal of hatred, yet saddened that we have not advanced further.

The residents of Haiti have seen their home devastated by a natural disaster. They need all the help people from all over the world can give them at this time. If all you can give are your prayers, then be sure to pray. God can work miracles, and prayers should never be saved as the last resort, but should be the first resort.

Several people have already donated large sums of money, and relief is in Haiti and more is waiting on ships. There is going to be more help needed. Disasters can happen anywhere to anyone. If you are blessed with what you have, share that blessing by helping others. If you have never taken time to help anyone in need, I urge you to do so.

While Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's life and struggle for racial equality was directed towards a nation, his feelings can be directed to the world. Lets join together and help a nation recover from the earthquake that devastated it.

Will RogersImage via Wikipedia

I was looking for something to say as a follow up to my last post and ran across this posted on a blog 5 years ago. Somehow it seemed fitting to repost this since it is the common sense of the famous Will Rogers (November 4, 1879 – August 15, 1935). I wonder if people today know who Will Rogers was? He was the Jay Leno, or Conan of the late 1800s and early 1900s. He was a Mark Twain sort of person, too. Back when you went to a town hall, or a music hall to get your entertainment, or read a newspaper to see what someone would comment using their right to free speech. His life was part of the silent film era, too, and he got to perform in those early films. Will Rogers was sought after for his skill with a rope, and his skill at commenting on the news of the day.
Those were the good old days? 1932 was not all that good according to the history books, but the USA survived it, and became stronger. Just as one day 2010 will be part of someone's good old days, when we could find information on computers, and had so many forms of entertainment it was mind boggling.

Here is the URL of the site where I found this article, and thanks to them for letting me quote it. About.com was the source and a site about liberal politics.
Rogers' advice, "Go Fishing Until the Election" is as true, and funny, today as it was in November 1932. Enjoy!
------------------------------
"There should be a moratorium on candidates speeches.

They have both called each other everything in the world they can think of. From now on, they are just talking themselves out of votes. The high office of President of the United States has degenerated into two ordinarily fine men being goaded on by their political leeches into saying things that, if they were in their right minds, they wouldn't think of saying.

Imagine Mr. Hoover last night saying "any change of policies will bring disaster to every fireside in America." Of all the conceit. This country is a thousand times bigger than any two men in it, or any two parties in it. These big politicians are so serious about themselves and their parties.

This country has gotten to where it is in spite of politics, not by the aid of it. That we have carried as much political bunk as we have and still survived shows we are a super nation....

So you two boys just get the weight of the world off your shoulders and go fishing. Both of you claim to like to fish. Now instead of calling each other names until next Tuesday, why you can do everybody a big favor by going fishing, and you will be surprised , but the old US will keep right on running while you boys are sitting on the bank.

Then come back next Wednesday, and we will let you know which one is the lesser of the two evils of you."

The Letter Everyone Is Talking About

Open Source PoliticsImage by jurvetson via Flickr

I got this in an email, and even though everyone is talking about it, I have not heard anyone talking about it. Have you? Still it is an interesting letter, and pretty much defines why we have elected representatives in the US. From city councils to President, we are fortunate that we get to vote for who runs the government.

We speak with our votes, since that is about all that gets listened to. That is how many people feel when it comes to having their small voice heard.

I thought that since everyone is talking about a letter I never heard of, I should help out and put it on my blog. Whether you agree or disagree is up to you, but at least this talked about letter might get talked about more.

If you are happy, vote for who makes you happy, but if you are not happy, maybe it is time to see who is willing to guide your ship.

THE LETTER EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT

This has to be the email forward of the year! Please take a few minutes to read and absorb just what this woman had to say, and then hopefully everyone will pass it to their entire mailing list, and theirs to theirs until it circles the nation! Time is short and arrogance, stupidity and ignorance abound...

The following letter read on Glenn Beck's show, is rapidly circulating around the country. Americans everywhere identify with this 53-year-old woman. She has given us a voice. Once you read this, you will want to forward it to all of your friends...

GLENN BECK: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona . She writes an open letter to our nation's leadership:

"I am a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. Instead, we are burdened with Congressional Dukes and Duchesses who think they know better than the citizens they are supposed to represent.
There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now.
You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would feel so horribly disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut-job am I? Well, these briefly are the views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels.. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution.
P.S., I'm not a racist. This is not to be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the STIMULUS bill. I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you No, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars. I want the circumvention of our constitutional checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution, and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There are many conflicting opinions and it is too soon for this radical legislation. Quit throwing our nation into politically-correct quicksand.

Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision that will burden me, my children, and grandchildren. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night without even reading it. Slow down! Fix only what is broken -- we have the best health care system in the world -- and test any new program in one or two states first.

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. More is not better! Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real [Constitutional] obligations. Why don't you start there.

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes -- how did they pull that one off? Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with any of our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs -- and that is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person! Why do you want me to hate my employers? And what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Every company must sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. (Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid?) We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk.. Please stop trying to manipulate and appease me with clever wording.. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.
Take a breath. Listen to the people. Slow down and get some input from nonpoliticians and experts on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed-reading our bills into law. I am not an activist.. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent.. I work. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not.
It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is needless urgency and recklessness in all of your recent spending of our tax dollars.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on bringing our concerns to Washington . Our president often knows all the right buzzwords like unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented.. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work, pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone... and we are now looking at you.

You have awakened us, the patriotic freedom spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office.
We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us who will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this.. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution, and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them.. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you.
If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one.
We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent?
Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.

WW 2 Sailor's Message to Obama

No editing other then removing a small spec of...Image via Wikipedia

You often get email that sounds like a hoax. This was sent to me and is what the man wrote to President Obama.

(This was certified on snopes as true. http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/haroldestes.asp)

Here is the Email

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii

for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes

all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body,

he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now.

He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can't figure out what country you are the president of.

You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

" We're no longer a Christian nation"

" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even

announced to the world,"America is mean-

spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching

that nonsense to 23 generations of our

war dead buried all over the globe who

died for no other reason than to free a

whole lot of strangers from tyranny and

hopelessness.)

I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.

And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

Sincerely,

Harold B. Estes

When a 95 year old hero of the "the Greatest Generation"

stands up and speaks out like this, I think we owe it

to him to send his words to as many Americans as
we can. Please pass it on.

It is a shame to see the World War 2 vets aging. It is a shame to lose so many of our heroes. However, we must keep the support of the military going forward, and honor those who serve. They make untold sacrifices for the people who do not choose that way of life.

Not Funny But True Political Pardons

{{w|Jesse Jackson}} speaking during an intervi...Image via Wikipedia

Is this a great country or what ?

Jesse Jackson's Newest Staff Member

You can't make up stuff better than this! Isn't politics grand? Jesse Jackson's Newest Staff Member Mel Reynolds Jesse Jackson has added former Chicago Democrat Congressman Mel to Rainbow/PUSH Coalition's payroll. Reynolds was among the 176 criminals excused in President Clinton's
last-minute forgiveness spree. Reynolds received a commutation of his six-and-a-half-year

federal sentence for 15 convictions of wire fraud, bank fraud, and lies to the Federal Election Commission. He is more notorious, however, for concurrently serving five years for sleeping with an underage campaign volunteer. This is a first in American politics: An ex-congressman who had sex with a subordinate...won clemency from a president who had sex with a subordinate...then was hired by a clergyman who had sex with a subordinate! A Dead Horse Tale

Source: http://www.usmint.gov/pressroom/index.Image via Wikipedia

Young Chuck in Montana bought a horse from a farmer for
$100. The farmer agreed to deliver the horse the next day.

The next day he drove up and said, 'Sorry son,
but I have some bad news, the horse died.'

Chuck asked the farmer to give him his money back.

The farmer said, 'Can't do that. I went and spent it already.'

Chuck said, 'Ok, then, just bring me the dead horse.'

The farmer asked, 'What ya gonna do with him?

Chuck said, 'I'm going to raffle him off.'

The farmer said, 'You can't raffle off a dead horse!'

Chuck said, 'Sure I can, Watch me. I just
won't tell any body he's dead.'

A month later, the farmer met up with Chuck and
asked, 'What happened with that dead horse?'

Chuck said, 'I raffled him off. I sold 500
tickets at two dollars a piece and made a
profit of $998.

The farmer said, 'Didn't anyone complain?'

Chuck said, 'Just the guy who won. So I gave him
his two dollars back.'

Chuck grew up and works now for the government. He
was the one who figured
out the government bail out plan..

US Health Care Reform

Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan they force on us

Under the current draft of the Democrat healthcare legislation, members of Congress are curiously exempt from the government-run health care option, keeping their existing health plans and services on Capitol Hill.

If Members of Congress believe so strongly that government-run health care is the best solution for hard working American families, I think it only fitting that Americans see them (Congress) lead the way. Public servants should always be accountable and responsible for what they are advocating.

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and sign his petition (very simple - just first, last and email). I have immediately done just that at: http://fleming.house.gov/ .

Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!

If Congress forces this health care program on the American people, then Congress should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families.

The AMA's View On The Obama Plan

Selling Obamacare - July 22, 2009Image by Mark Sardella via Flickr

This is taken from an email I just received as a result of all the health care reforms in the US.

The American M edical Association has weighed in on the new health care plan being developed by the Obama Team. The Allergists voted to scratch it, but the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.

The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.

The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception.

Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.

Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!" while the Pediatricians said, 'Oh, Grow up!'

The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it.

Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing The Internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the Plastic Surgeons said, "This puts a whole new face on the matter."

The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea. The Anesthesiologists thought the idea was a gas, and the Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.

In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the a** holes in Washington .

USA Health Care Reform?

I just got this email from a friend. It seems the baby boomer generation who did not take care of their health might not live as long as their parents, if this is what will happen. 50 will become a long enough life and if you need medical care after that, "oh well". Read this email. I should have looked it up on Snopes. Let me know what you find out.

FYI
The actress Natasha Richardson died after falling skiing in Canada . It took eight hours to drive her to a hospital. If Canada had our healthcare she might be alive today. We now have helicopters that would have gotten her to the hospital in 30 minutes. Obama wants to have our healthcare like Canada and England.

In England anyone over 59 cannot receive heart repairs or stents or bypass because it is not covered as being too expensive and not needed.

Looks like Obama is sure keeping his word ****CHANGES. We better have our funerals paid up, may be needing it sooner rather than later with no Dr's on our side to keep us healthy. What will this world be like in another 20 YEARS WHEN OUR KIDS ARE READY FOR RETIREMENT? SAD!!!

Please do not let Obama sign senior death warrants

Most of you know by now that the Senate version (at least) of the "stimulus" bill includes provisions for extensive rationing of health care for senior citizens. The author of this part of the bill, former senator and tax evader, Tom Daschle was credited today by Bloomberg with the following statement.

Bloomberg: Daschle says, "health-care reform will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them." (Lets see death comes with age. Death comes from living. My comments not part of the original email)

If this does not sufficiently raise your ire, just remember that Senators and Congressmen have their own health care plan that is first dollar or very low co-pay which they are guaranteed the remainder of their lives and are not subject to this new law if it passes.

Please use the power of the internet to get this message out. Talk it up at the grassroots level. We have an election coming up in one year and nine months. We have the ability to address and reverse the dangerous direction the Obama administration and it allies have begun and in the interim, we can make their lives miserable. Lets do it!
If you disagree, don't do anything.

The USA and God

As much as people do not want the US to be one nation under God, I feel that when push comes to shove there are still many people who believe in God and the power of prayer to keep the US a nation under God.
This video is one Congressman's view. He appears to be swimming against the tide of politics in the US.

Have such an ugly baby?

I've always wanted to have
someone to hold,

someone to love.

After having met you ..

I've changed my mind.

As the days go by, I think of how lucky I am...

That you're not here to ruin it for me.

Would you like to take this knife out of my back?

You'll probably need it again.
